Tonic for the Spirit

Pedicularis canadensis, Wood Betony, Lousewort. If you are lucky enough to find a patch of this beautiful, fragrant plant growing in abundance, you are in for a treat. Pedicularis is known as a skeletal muscle relaxant and is particularly useful for relieving back and neck pain. Reportedly, Pedicularis root is also an excellent aphrodisiac. I have found that it soothes the heart... and after a cup of Pedicularis leaf and flower tea, the world around me takes on a gentle, joyful glow.
