January 18, 2019
We are so grateful for the tireless, world-changing work of our friend Jenna Jambeck Farfour! She is co-leading a Source to Sea Initiative to combat plastics in our environment through National Geographic! Check out the incredible work she is doing!
We will be celebrating the end of our yearlong camps and programs with an improv theater production of the Norwegian folktale, Tatterhood! The event will take place Sunday May 6th from 4:00-7:30! At 4:00, participants in our yearlong programs will be teaching some of the skills they have learned throughout the year! We will eat at 5:00 and after supper will enjoy the play and a bardic circle - an open floor for music, stories, jokes and poems!
We will be celebrating the coming of winter at our potluck this Sunday evening from 4:30-7:00! We will be making tree-round ornaments at 4:30 with the children and decorating them with beautiful forest findings. After dinner, we will have a special telling of a Norwegian holiday troll story, with improv acting and musical accompaniment from folks in the Greenwood community. We look forward to seeing you there!
We are excited to share with you some stories from the start to our yearlong immersions, an invitation to an Ancestor Feast this coming weekend, news of our upcoming Wildlings Winter Camp and Greenwood t-shirts on the way!
GREENWOOD RUMPUS CELEBRATION!!! Come join us in the Greenwood this Saturday October 28th at 5:00 PM to craft whimsical forest hats and headdresses out of english ivy, kudzu, forest findings and any peculiar adornments you would like to weave in! We will eat a potluck meal at 6:30 and rendezvous in front of the Little Kings Shuffle Club at 8:00 to march together as a wild band of forest folk in the Rumpus Parade!
